Primary School Graduation

It’s always a mixed feeling, for the first and last day of everything, and this week is Azkia’s final last days of Primary School, even today is her last time wearing that lovely yellow uniform.

I feel sad and feel happy.

Sad because our little girl is going to secondary soon. Sad because it has been a very different end to a school year. The virus stole away Azkia’s precious months of her last term. Sad because she says goodbye to the place that has been her second home for the last 6.5 years.

But Alhamdulillah I feel grateful, despite the circumstances and all the “new normal” procedure, I believe Azkia and her friends graduated in true Cempaka style with a terrific graduation and fond farewells.

We came to Cempaka Cheras in January 2014. Little Azkia was barely can speak English, she can’t write and read, a new little girl in a new school. Lucky that she met an amazing teacher-Ms. Sue who helped her a lot. She is a wonderful and lovely teacher.

In primary school we met lots of brilliant teachers and coaches, Azkia has been part of fantastic school for all this time. I am really grateful that Azkia had wonderful primary school experiences with her friends and teachers.

Coach Alex, Azkia’s swimming coach was kindly share Azkia’s pictures with me knowing that parents won’t be able to see their kids in the ceremony.

Late in the afternoon, Ms. Nala – Azkia’s homeroom teacher in Year 5 and amazing Geography teacher called me. She was surprised that Azkia would move to another school for her secondary. She told me lot of good things about Azkia that made me feel grateful. Indeed Ms. Nala is a really nice person and good teacher, we love her.

Coach Alex also texted me, saying the same thing, that he was surprised that Azkia would move. Apparently Azkia didn’t tell him in person. I said thank you to Coach Alex, he is a very good and nice Coach. He was hoping the new school will works for Azkia, if not you can always come back Azkia haha.

Thank you teachers, coaches, parents and friends in @cempakaschools , you are all amazing ❤️.

Congratulations @azkiaanshelma for enjoying your primary school life. Have a wonderful journey ahead 🤗.
