To My Daughter on Her 12th Birthday

Azkia is 12 yo today, as we are in lockdown mode, we just stay at home and had a little celebration for her.

I didn’t sleep last night because I need to finish my work for presentation this morning. I was so tired but I managed to cook Nasi Kuning for her, a simple one, served with fried chicken and egg strips. We ate it for lunch and Popo recited a doa. Very quick one because Azkia must go back to her online class.

I took a half day off but I forgot that Azkia’s had school until 2:40 and Quran class until 4 PM, so I back to my laptop while waiting for her.

This year (after the epic cake last year) I decided to order a cake, a small Black Forest cake from Ted Boy. Azkia randomly searched it online but turn out the cake is really nice, we could finish it at 6PM also share a bit for Rel’s and Yihan’s family.

Happy birthday Azkia

Azkia received lots of messages from our family, friends and her friends, we just so grateful. Thank you for all the warm birthday wishes and prayers. All of you really made her day.

Coach Gary – her triathlon coach, wrote a beautiful message for Azkia. I put it here so Azkia could read it one day :

Hey Azkia, you know, you’re the most consistent athlete who hardly miss a training session. I think you are on a mission and you want to show the world what you can do and that’s pretty awesome coming from a cutie pie. The other thing is that I can see it in your eyes that you have the hunger that potentially makes you a very strong and aggressive sportswoman one day perhaps if you just follow these intuitive aggressiveness and let it takes it’s course.

Seems to me you’re reaching something in the universe the farthest you can go, and by doing so, subconsciously you are reaching deep into yourself. So dig deep with persistency, let not the cost of hardship of sacrifice supersede your precious dream and most importantly to grasp it totally with your heart. Have a blast….It’s a beautiful day, today…

The message is just so beautiful, Coach Gary know Azkia very well. I should admit that Azkia is one of very persistent girl that I’ve ever met.

And my messages for her :

To my gorgeous girl Azkia Anshelma, happy birthday to you. I wish you more than happiness. I learnt that life is so much more than being happy. A world waiting for you to live life fully. I wish you joy and gratitude, hope you are growing up to be strong, independent and kind girl. Have a beautiful birthday Azkia.

Love,

Bunda
