It’s time to go home. I wrote this post for my IG feed in Amritsar International Airport, right before we boarded the plane back to Malaysia. I just feel very grateful, this trip just amazing.
We’ve completed our 3000 km journey across India, and it was incredible. It is difficult to describe India, as many travel advice said : expect the unexpected !. There’s the chaos, the beauty, the mystery and the energy, it really is like no other place on earth.
We started the journey from Agra, a city on the banks of Yamuna River in Uttar Pradesh. Home to India’s proud representative of the Seven Wonders of the World – the Taj Mahal. The city is holding rich historical background and a strong cultural heritage as it has served as the capital city for the Mughal Empire-one of the largest Islamic empires in the history of South Asia.
No need introduction for the deserts of Rajashtan, the pink city of Jaipur, the blue city of Jodhpur to the golden city of Jaisalmer. The land of palaces and forts, Rajashtan is unique. Home of the largest desserts and the oldest mountain range in India.
The Himachal Pradesh offer the lush green valleys, the Himalayan snowy mountain range, beautiful hills station of Shimla and Dharamsala, travel time journey through toy train from Kalka to Shimla and little Tibet of Mcleodganj, the present home of the Dalai Lama.
Our journey ends with a visit to the Golden Temple of Amritsar, the holiest shrine of the Sikh Religion. Cook and eat with local which we love so much – thank you @cookwithkaur. Last but not least was the Attari-Whaga border ceremony, full of enthusiasm and patriotism – the spirit of nation.
Alhamdulillah, our journey was trouble free, India is safe. The toilets were clean, the train and bus schedule were on time. No scam, I guess not because we were lucky, but because there’s good people everywhere. Thank you India !
Ps.
Little did I know that it will be our last overseas trip before the pandemic. Till we can travel again, stay at home.
